Grid-reference mapping, live on a map

A Sheet-Map spreadsheet: the Patrol Sites sheet with MGRS coordinates, symbol, date and site columns
⇄synced
live
The same Patrol Sites points live on a satellite map, with the Layers and Sheets-on-map panel listing the sheet

The same points — in your sheet, and live on the map. Edit a coordinate and the point moves in real time.

Track anything on a live, shared map — patrol routes, wildfire perimeters, checkpoints, field crews, delivery stops. Type or import a location, drop a symbol, and your whole team sees it update in seconds. No training required — and MGRS/UTM/Lat-Long with real tactical symbols are right there when you need them.

See it move

A spreadsheet, live on a map — in 20 seconds

One tool, many jobs — for anyone who needs to track locations on a live, shared map.
Security

Guards & patrols

Guard sites, patrol routes and checkpoints — see every position, and who's where, in real time.

Emergency

Wildfire & response

Track a moving perimeter, crews and assets on one shared map as the situation changes.

Field ops

Sites & logistics

Inspections, deliveries, work sites — log a coordinate and the whole team sees it appear.

Built to track anything, anywhere

Everything a spreadsheet, a map, and a team need to stay in sync

From patrol logs to fire lines to tactical overlays — real coordinate systems, real symbology, real-time collaboration, and no training required.

Coordinates

MGRS, UTM, Lat/Long, DMS — pick one, work in it everywhere

Type a coordinate the way you'd write it — MGRS, UTM, Lat/Long or DMS — and Sheet-Map recognizes the format automatically. Flip the whole workspace between MGRS, UTM and Lat/Long display whenever you like; the underlying data never changes.

  • Formats auto-detected on input — no "which column is which"
  • Copy a coordinate from the map, paste it into any cell
  • Right-click "Go to grid" jumps straight there

Live Sheet ⇄ Map

Edit the sheet, watch the map move

The sheet is the source of truth; the map is its live view. Change a coordinate in a cell and its point jumps to the new spot instantly — no export, no refresh. Click any point on the map to open its full record, then jump straight to its row to edit.

  • Sheet edits appear on the map in real time
  • Click a map point → open its record → “Edit in Sheet”
  • Draw points, lines and symbols directly on the map as annotations
  • Annotations organise themselves — a GRG run files into its own folder, an import into one named after the file
  • Ruler: two clicks give distance, bearing and the elevation at each end
  • Draw a route and chart its elevation profile — ascent, descent and grade

Symbology

Real tactical symbols, not generic pins

Place military unit symbols with the right affiliation and echelon, using standard tactical symbology. Every symbol renders identically on the map and in a sheet cell.

  • Standards-based tactical symbology
  • Apply a symbol to a whole column at once
  • Color-coded affiliation dots export to KML/KMZ for ATAK & Google Earth
Collaboration

Your whole team, the same map, updating live

No exporting a file and emailing it around. Add a point and your team sees it appear in seconds — from a laptop at the TOC or dispatch desk to a phone in the field.

  • Real-time sync, not a periodic refresh
  • Invite by link (defaults to read-only) or by email
  • Owner, Member and Viewer roles, editable anytime
  • Team chat in every workspace — even viewers can post
The Team members & sharing dialog: people with access and their roles, invite by email, pending invitations, and a shareable invite link defaulting to Viewer.
Sheet-Map on a phone: the sheet in one compact action row with the grid filling the screen
In the field

Built for the phone in your hand, not a shrunken desktop

The same workspace, laid out for a 6-inch screen. The grid gets the screen, not the toolbars: navigation and the secondary actions fold into one menu, and the data starts near the top.

  • Pinch zooms the map — never the interface, which stays put and readable
  • Panels and record details slide over instead of squeezing the map
  • Tap targets sized for thumbs, and no page zoom when you tap a field
  • Nothing is hidden: every action moves into a menu, none are removed

Heatmaps

See the pattern, not just the pins

Select any sheets or folders and generate a heatmap on the fly — density, not decoration. Break it down by category, adjust the gradient, and switch back to individual points whenever you need the detail again.

  • Build a heatmap from any combination of sheets
  • Category breakdown, pivot-table style
  • Scope it to a drawn area, or recolor the gradient
Typed columns & filters

Ask your sheet a question, see the answer on the map

Give a column a type — date, number, grid reference, or a province-and-district picker — and every value is checked as you type, with anything that doesn’t fit outlined in red. Then filter on it: tick the values you want, bracket a number or date range, or drill into a province. Filters from different columns stack, and each one appears as a chip you can drop again.

  • Six column types, changeable at any time and re-checked on the spot
  • Filter by value, by range, or by province & district
  • Filter by symbol — the list shows the symbols themselves, not codes
  • Optionally hide filtered rows on the map too, with a note saying what is hidden
Analysis

Turn the map into a briefing, not just a picture

A 2×2 briefing view — your live map, charts, an at-a-glance summary, and the source data side by side. Pick a sheet and it builds the read-out for you; freeze it to the current map area, then present it.

  • Pie, bar, line & table charts — built in, no plugins
  • Group by a date column and it buckets by day, month or year automatically
  • A plain-language BLUF summary, generated from your data
  • Snapshot mode: analyze just what's in the current map view
  • Presentation mode with saved templates for recurring briefs

Grid reference to shared map in three steps

STEP 01

Type or import

Enter grid references directly, or import a CSV or a KMZ of points — coordinates, symbols and columns come in as rows; boundary and area files drop in as a reference overlay.

STEP 02

Curate the map

Choose which sheets show on the map. Draw points, lines, and tactical symbols directly where you need them.

STEP 03

Invite your team

Send a link. Everyone works off the same live sheet and map — no exports, no version drift.
